Introducing the Amphlett Lissimore Family Law Prize

Kaleb Nye - Amphlett Lissimore family law prize

We are delighted to introduce the Amphlett Lissimore family law prize as part of an exciting new partnership with The University of Roehampton’s Law School.

The Amphlett Lissimore family law prize is awarded to the most outstanding student in the University’s third year Family Law cohort, and the prize includes work experience at our offices in either Crystal Palace or Bromley, where they will meet with our specialist family lawyers and learn about our approach to family law matters. The winning student will also observe partner and Head of the family law department, Estella Newbold-Brown.

This year’s winner of the Family Law Prize is student Kaleb Nye.

Kaleb said: “I am delighted and honoured to receive this award. To have my contributions and efforts recognised in such an emphatic way is heart-warming to say the least. I am elated to be pursuing this opportunity for growth and learning with Amphlett Lissimore.”

Hands-on experience in a real-world legal setting

Partner and head of family law, Estella Newbold-Brown said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the University of Roehampton’s Law School to offer this unique opportunity to their outstanding Family Law student. Having gained work experience myself when I was a student, I understand the benefits of shadowing a legal professional to gain an insight into the legal world and how the law profession operates on the ground.”

 

Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and Head of the Law School, Dr Maris Kask-Polacko said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with such a reputable law firm in offering this exciting new prize to our Year 3 Family Law students. This is an excellent opportunity for our students to gain real-world experience and learn from some of the best lawyers in the field of children and family law.”

This is just the start of Amphlett Lissimore and University of Roehampton’s Law School’s partnership. We hope that the prize is the first of many valuable initiatives between the two parties, all aimed at promoting excellence in the legal profession.
