A Consent Order is a legally binding document that records the financial agreement reached between divorcing spouses and is approved by the court. Without one, either party could make a financial claim against the other in the future, regardless of how long ago the divorce was finalised. We strongly recommend obtaining one as part of any divorce settlement.
